The initiative celebrates the connection between design, urban mobility, and the spirit of exploration through the vision of Bianca Felicori, founder of Forgotten Architecture (with whom we have previously collaborated on (T)rap&Architecture).

The narrative rediscovers the vision of the great masters through a series of photographs in which the architecture interacts with lightweight K-Way nylon structures. In addition to the Collegio in Milan, the itinerary includes other iconic buildings in the city: the Sormani Library, the Casa a Tre Cilindri, the Church of San Giovanni Bono (at Via San Paolino 20, not far from Via San Vigilio), and the building at Corso Italia 13.

This is an important recognition for the Collegio di Milano, confirming the artistic and cultural value of the place where our students live and grow every day.

To explore the entire route, you can pick up the dedicated leaflet at the custom newsstand in Piazza Sant’Eustorgio, the hub of the initiative featuring talks and the “A Matter of Salone” capsule collection. Additionally, throughout the entire week of the Salone del Mobile, the K-Way flagship store at Corso Garibaldi 30 will continue to host a special installation dedicated to the project, conceived as a full-fledged exhibition.

The results achieved constitute a heritage to be consolidated and further developed through a constructive international projection that focuses on promoting our companies, the quality of our territories, and the unparalleled value of Made in Italy around the world.

Fondazione Collegio delle Università MIlanesi participated in this extraordinary project thanks to its partnership with Padiglione Italia, which began in February 2025 with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at implementing concrete projects related to the themes of the Universal Exposition, which opened on April 13 and closed on October 13, 2025. The primary objective of this collaboration was to give young people the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in global challenges and involve them in the creation of a more sustainable society.

As part of this initiative, in July 2025 there was “The Future is Now: Gen Z Leading the Way", a unique educational experience involving 55 students and staff members from Italian Collegi di Merito (Colleges of Merit). The experience, organized with the support of the Conference of Collegi Universitari di Merito, was not limited to discussing issues of the future: it was a total immersion in innovation and tradition. Participants were able to learn about Japanese culture firsthand through visits to iconic cities such as Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, and Hiroshima, and discover Expo 2025 Osaka. It was an intense week, full of visits, meetings, and firsthand accounts.

We are proud to have been part of this successful initiative. We would like to thank the Commissioner General and Padiglione Italia not only for their collaboration over the past few months, but above all for allowing us to offer our students this unique opportunity.

The initiative was presented on September 20 at Palazzo Marino (Milan City Hall), at the presence of the Mayor of Milan Giuseppe Sala, by Salvatore Carrubba e Stefano Blanco, President and Managing Director of Fondazione Collegio delle Università Milanesi, together with Anna Scavuzzo (Deputy Mayor), Angelo Bugatti (BCMA Studio and CAUP - Shanghai) and Emanuela Carpani (Archeology, Fine Arts and Landscape Superintendence).

After several years of decay and neglect, the Marchiondi Institute, a brutalist work of art designed by Vittoriano Viganò, will come back to life. The new university residence, which will stand in the same area and will extend for more than 21,000 sqm, will have art as its main driver: it is the first experience of its kind in Italy and one of the first in Europe. There will be 167 rooms: modern accommodations, progressive from the point of view of energy saving and technology. There will also be services and spaces dedicated to studying and artistic and musical education, as well as laboratories, sports areas and restoration areas. History and future are the two fundamentals of the project, whose goal is on one side presenting what has been generated up until now through the Foundation's activities, and on the other side setting the goals for the next years of activity.

One of the first initiatives has seen the students of the Collegio di Milano being involved in the design of the official logo that will be used during celebrations.

Afterwards, an online survey has been launched, asking the students of the Collegio, the staff, the Directors, the Alumni and all the actors that contribute to the activity of the Foundation, to select one among the proposed ideas. The winner was the logo designed by the group composed by students Ennio Abbruzzetti, Elisa Roscitano, Irene Paticchio, Marco Iaquinto e Giorgia Zanghì.

The design refers to the globe and the sense of internationality. It focuses on the concepts of networking and innovation, that are at the base of the future of the Collegio, but it also reminds us of the past with the reference to the historical colonnade.

In the next weeks we will unveil all the initiatives and the events we are planning.
